Newly Diagnosed Patient
I got diagnosed with HIV 5 days ago. My CD4 count is 25, I'm looking healthy but does this mean I have a stage of AIDS. And if so, after prescribed my meds will I go back to having HIV or will I still have AIDS. I'm so lost and confused.
I work in the health care field my best recommendation, would be to speak with your health care provider as well as getting counseling. I believe in God if you do as well do get in the church so the pastor can pray over you. True statement lady in my church diagnosed with same situation was sent to hospice everyone gave up but not my pastor or church. She is in college right now and healthy walking around just like everyone else. Never lose FAITH.
Honey you don’t have aids if you have no other disease associated with it. Just because you have been diagnosed with HIV and a low CD4 count doesn’t necessarily mean you have aids.
I have been in your shoes not too long ago (newly diagnosed with similar numbers in July 2018). It does get better, it does get easier.
Take all your meds, do what the doctors say, make sure you eat healthy (as a person with HIV, our bodies use up more protein so be mindful of that) and find someone to talk to.
Your mind is going to go to some dark places. Don’t let those thoughts hold you down. Your numbers will improve if you take your meds and take care of yourself. Lots of life to live, just don’t let this hold you down.
