    Exposure and infection are synonymous with hsv. A previous hsv1 infection will keep you from developing symptoms of hsv2, but it will still set up as a latent infection in your nerves. You may never have a hsv2 outbreak or may have unnoticeable symptoms, but you will always have it and will be transmissible at some level.
